The Fifth Annual Oregon Cheese Festival will be held March 13th and 14th at Rogue Creamery in Central Point, Oregon. Friday night begins with a 'Meet the Cheesemakers' dinner at the historic Jacksonville Inn in nearby Jacksonville, Oregon. Each course of the dinner will feature artisan cheeses made by Guild members. Journalist, Author and Cheese Expert Janet Fletcher will be on hand to emcee the event, leading participants through each course and discussing the cheeses and wines. Also on hand will be most of Oregon's Cheesemakers, who will talk about their cheeses.
On Saturday, the real fun begins! Rogue Creamery will host the farmer's market style Festival (admission is $5) featuring Oregon cheesemakers alongside makers of other artisan products such as Applegate Valley Artisan Breads, Rogue Ales, wineries such as Madrone Mountain Vineyards, Valley View Winery and more good stuff from the likes of Dry Soda, Dagoba Chocolates, and the list goes on. Courses will be held throughout the day on a variety of topics including cheese and wine pairing. Also on hand will be Kate Arding, cheese expert and one of the founders of Culture Magazine. Come sample, savor and enjoy the great bounty that is Oregon cheese!
