11am - Beer and Cheese
Beer and cheese pair together like old friends. Join Brain Butenschoen of the Oregon Brewer's Guild, Vern Caldwell from Pholia Farm, Eric Moore from Victory Bar and others for beer, cheese and good conversation.
1pm - Build an Artisan Cheese Board
Top Chef meets local cheese in this event, where local cheese experts vie in a friendly competition to assemble a sumptuous cheese plate using a variety of artisan cheeses and local accompaniments. Audience members can try their hand as well, and judges will review and pass judgment on the results. Join Brandon Weeks, fromager at Urban Farmer, Naomi Pomeroy of Beast , Andrew Lintz of Elephants Delicatessan and others at this pairing competition.
3pm - Cheese and Spirits Pairing
We're talking cheese and gin, whiskey, rum - you name it. In Europe, folks have been drinking spirits with their cheese for centuries....over here, we're just now starting to explore this new realm of pairings. Explore a variety of flavor combinations using spirits from local distillers as you savor the possibilities. Featured panelists include Kevin Ludwig of Beaker & Flask, Lee Medoff from House Spirits and Lynn Bauer from Clear Creek Distillery.
