2009 American Dairy Goat Association Cheese Awards - Northwest Winners

The American Dairy Goat Association held its annual convention this past week in Buffalo, New York. While a lot of the discussion surrounds goat breeding and management, the cheese competition (which includes both professional and amateur categories) is fast becoming a showcase for artisan made goat's milk cheeses. The 2009 competition judges were Max McCalman, Dean of Curriculum and Maitre Fromager at Artisanal in New York, and Marc Druart of the Vermont Institute for Artisan Cheese. This year there are four winners from the Pacific Northwest, all from Oregon.
