Tonight - that's Wednesday, May 19th at 6:30pm - Gordon Edgar (pictured to the left) & Tami Parr (that's me) will be reading and discussing our respective cheese related books. The event is being hosted by Square Deal Wine & Cheese in Portland, Oregon, located at 2321 NW Thurman. In addition to the reading and talking part of it, there will also be plenty of cheese sampling and wine tasting to keep you busy/happy/satiated. Gordon Edgar is the author of Cheesemonger: A Life on the Wedge , a memoir of sorts about the intersection of life and cheesemongering (see my prior review of the book here). He's currently on a tour through the Pacific Northwest that has taken him through Bellingham, Olympia, Seattle and now Portland. As you may already know, Tami Parr (yes, that's me) is the author of Artisan Cheese of the Pacific Northwest , a guide to all of the great local cheesemakers who are making cheese in our lovely part of the country.
And if that isn't enough for you, Gordon, Tami, Sarah Marcus of the new Briar Rose Creamery in Dundee, Oregon and Chrissie Zaerpoor from Kookoolan Farms will be guests on the cheese-themed KBOO radio Food Show today from 11am-12pm. Listen in if you can't make the evening event - or better yet, do both!
